Nestled high in the hills north of Biggar, Errington Cheese is renowned for its celebrated Lanark Blue cheese, crafted from the farm’s own sheep (as noted by Hannah Isdale). Commonly referred to as Scotland’s roquefort, it stands out as one of the first blue ewe’s milk cheeses produced in Britain since the Middle Ages.

The family-run business has recently launched a monthly supper club, showcasing the finest local and sustainable ingredients. These meals are served in a stylish barn situated on their expansive 380-acre farm at the southern base of the Pentland Hills. The culinary creations are led by Ed Murray, the previous co-owner and chef of The Gardener’s Cottage in Edinburgh. Each three-course menu is crafted from ingredients sourced within 50 miles of the farm, alongside their own milk, cheeses, and Tamworth-black cross pigs. Murray draws inspiration from rustic French bistro fare to provide a relaxed dining ambiance.

The next supper club is scheduled for June 27. Although the menu isn’t finalized until closer to the event—emphasizing seasonal produce—May’s offerings included delightful dishes like freshly picked asparagus paired with silky poached eggs and Corra Linn cheese, smoked pork belly served with haricot beans and panzanella, and an indulgent whey caramel and chocolate tart. Plus, a cheeseboard showcasing Errington’s own creations ensures a memorable evening in the Clyde Valley. Price: £36.75.
